A collage artist – lives in Victoria, BC, Canada.
His collage gives art viewers an illusion of which as if it were painted in oil or acrylic. Unlike painters who have total freedom of selecting and creating colour palette for their paintings, he does not apply any type of paint on my collage. Therefore, he depends strictly on whatever colour available from magazines. He enjoys the unconventional process of manipulating colour and unpredictable outcome. Each collage is unique, because it can neither be cloned nor recreated even by the artist himself.
An art viewer may take a close look at his collage to detect a chaotic world of colors, and shapes from messy layers of pieces of ripped magazines rebelliously fighting against each other. However, as the art viewer slowly steps backward about 15 feet away to have a “macro-look”, the collage gradually reveal its order, light, depth, energy, uniqueness, and beauty. The art viewer can change perspective and feeling through the artistic transformation of his collage by repeating the “zoom-in-and-out” process for a couple of times.
