Biography: My background is eclectic in that I have considered my formal education as work and the various jobs I've had as primarily educational. My interest is centered in communication. It was with that in mind that I studied English and linguistics in college until I realized that verbal communiction is a wonderful tool for communicating on some levels, but that it is woefully inadequate for imparting meaning on other levels. For example, every part of a sailboat and evey action pertaining to each has a specific nomenclature without which succesful sailing would be nearly impossible. However, to communicate the impressions; abstract concepts; thoughts pertaining to the subjective, intimate processes that are actually the more essential aspects of our personalities, language fails. For that reason I have come to rely on art to attempt to show what I think and feel about that which is verbally inexpressible. How did you start in Art?
I have loved color and light all my life. After a full career in engineering, at age fifty-two I finally admitted to myself that I am an artist and began using my computer to create images.

Who is/was your master?
I follow most closely the work of Fortunato Depero. My family own a small collection of his work when I was a child and I spend many hours in awe of his work.

Do you think that training is Important or prefer self-taught?
The creative impulse comes from within and I feel it is of little importance to consider from which direction one arrives in life with the courage to speak to the world in one's own language. Mot of the good rules of art are intuitive. Only some techniques must be taught.

It is possible to live from Art?
I live of, by and for my art.

Transpiration or inspiration?
Whenever I close my eyes the color begin. At age seventy I spend eighteen hours every day at my computers and wish I had more time.

Your 3 Favorite Artists Living and Dead
I love the work of Fortunato Depero, Rose E. Parabutes,
and Mary Delave, but there are many, many more on my list.

Work of art that you would like to be the Author and Why
I love what I do and I also love the beauty that others create, I get fully as much joy from viewing others' works as I do my own, but I covet none of them.

Is there a Price for Art?
When one devotes his life to one thing, such as art, he cannot participate in all the others activities that may attract his attention.

Everything can be art or are there limits?
I believe that beauty is the main criterion for defining art. Political statements, venting anger, stating a position are better served by the use of language.

Digital Art. Yes or no?
The computer or digital camera is simply another tool the artist can use to his glory or to his peril. The creativity that marks art comes from within the artist, not the brush or the computer.

Confusion
This is the most confusing site I have ever seen. I still can't find where to approve friends. The layout is also very cluttered. The artists' is secondary to the advertising because of your bad design.
